Sometimes a seed is planted long before you even realise...
It was late 2018 when 'Your Essential Being' took its roots with a slightly different name. the first iteration of this heart-inspired creation was simply 'Essential Being'. This was 1.5 years before Amy, our founder, began working with the plant medicine of Cacao and she had no idea where Spirit was guiding her. Let's hear from Amy directly her experience of birthing 'Your Essential Being' and what it means to her:
Amy: In the very beginning of creating my business, I was studying my 500hr yoga teacher certification. At that point, I thought yoga was my future and my service (relatively quickly I realised yoga - and specifically yoga philosophy - was the most beautiful step on my way elsewhere), and I sat in a cafe with a close friend having a brainstorming 'meeting' to begin fleshing out some ideas for my business. All it took was one simple question to open my heart and hear the whisper:
How do you want people to feel when they work with you?
What a question right!? At first I was stumped. "I don't know... good? happy?" That felt dull. I enquired a little deeper into my heart. Why am I doing this? What is it that I actually want to support people in doing/being/experiencing? Finally...
"I want to help people come back to their essential nature, their natural state of being. I want to help people remember their essential being."
They felt like the truest words I had spoken.
Throughout 2019 my business shifted towards being a yoga/therapeutic relaxation massage business and I felt to weave in a more personal aspect into the name. It wasn't just about the general essential being-ness of all things, I was specifically talking to YOU about YOUR Essential Being. And so, the name evolved.
The evolution makes way for Maestra Cacao...
What is so beautiful to me is that at that point, I still had NO IDEA what Ceremonial Cacao was. It wasn't on my radar in the slightest, but as 2019 began to draw to a close, she finally arrived to my heart. You can read more about how she arrived to me here. As I enrolled to and completed my first ceremonialist and shamanic initiation with my teacher, Jemmita from Anchoring the Light, more and more pieces started to drop in. I came here to guide people back to this innate remembering of the truth of who they really are - back to their Essential Being. And in this new chapter, I was to be closely aligned to the plant medicine of Cacao to fulfill that service.
Almost 3 years on from this initiation to this medicine, it is clear to me that I was being guided here long before I understood. I am so grateful for that day in the cafe when I proclaimed I wanted to be a place where people could remember their essential nature and come back to their essential being. I am so grateful I get to remember the innocence of that moment and the way I followed that whisper. I am in awe as look back and witness where it guided me.
